About the Program
Your identity is constantly evolving.
Whether a business, an organization, or even a community, stories that capture the imagination and gather momentum join together to define you.
So what’s the problem? Why is this concerning?
Answer: The most popular stories about any organization are rarely the ones they would choose.
As evidenced everyday in our social media channels, someone who feels mistreated is far more likely to share their experience with the world than one who gets the positive experience they were expecting. Additionally, humans pay far greater attention to this negative information. (See Soroka) The result is an unbalanced narrative that is likely to drag your identity downward if not addressed.
Identity Curation is a the process of gathering and sharing the stories which illustrate your organization at its best. In the same way that a gallery curator collects and exhibits a variety of artworks to make a point, you have the ability to curate stories that prove your mission and values; that prove you are what you claim to be. It is a powerful tool for organizational change and for enhancing employee satisfaction, with a process that is informed by multiple organizational disciplines, including:
- Organizational Storytelling
- Appreciative Inquiry
- Nudge theory
- Applied Positive Psychology
- The Clarity Framework
Identity Curation Workshop provides a safe space to acknowledge the identity challenges you are facing and to explore the wealth of positive potential that every organization has.
This program can be customized to meet your needs and timeframe. The topics covered include:
- Default Narrative Assessment: What is being shared about you right now?
- Pre-existing Mythos: What success stories do you already have to share?
- Identifying your Positive Themes: What stories should you be gathering?
- Story Gathering Techniques: How might you collect them?
- Storytelling Techniques: How will you shape and share the stories you gather?
